playlist: Hand Clap- Fitz and the Tantrums
Miraculously, I made it home at four today and I've got the time to sit down with my tea while I scroll through Vogue online and my Tumblr dash. It's a good start to the week.
I'm also exploring the courses offered at Parsons School of Design in New York City. Course requests opened today, and my elective choices have me thinking about college.
From a high school point of view, college is a nice daydream; I'm refusing to deal with any of the annoying realities of life on my own. The student work section is especially impressive. I can see myself as the next Coco Chanel or Anna Wintour as I'm looking at the student fashion designs. To be honest, my dream has always been to be a magazine editor just like Anna, equally terrifying and stylish.
An internship at Teen Vogue is another wish a lot closer to my sphere but still a tough shot. Meanwhile my Pinterest boards are cluttered with gap year travel destinations, bucket lists, and colleges on the coast of SoCal. Always on to the next big thing.
Marilyn Monroe said, "Give a girl the right shoes, and she will conquer the world." Well, I'm wearing my comfiest Uggs right now. But I'm feeling ready to conquer the world. Or just college. Whichever comes first.
